Royal Wedding Extravaganza!!

Well... who couldn't have known about the ROYAL WEDDING?? We celebrated with SAmberie! Sam had sent out an invitation quite some time ago, planning to have a party to watch and enjoy the wedding and some royal FEAST items! He served his mission in England and it holds a very special place in his heart! Which works for us, since it meant a PARTY!! And a reason to go up there!
So... the day after Ella's dance recital... (sort of, you remember) we headed up to Chino Hills after school for the festivities!  Friday, 29 April!!
I thought the bride was BEAUTIMUS, and that her sister was just as gorgeous in a gown that I totally loved! Pippa was very elegant!  The best dressed, for sure!
Hats, hats, and MORE hats!!  Some were good, some were okay, and some... well, YIKES!
Though yellow is my favorite color, this was a little too bright for my taste, but still very much like the queen!  He hats always look like cakes... I think!  But still fun and tasteful!

The Royal family!  (Including the two princesses that were in awful attire!)

I rushed out the door with some hats in hand to make over for the party at Sam's!  And then after Lexi chose her ribbon and flowers she would NOT wear it, so Colleen put it on for me!  She pulled it off well, considering the size of the hat!  I love this picture!

I have to say that I was disappointed to see that we were the only ones who came with HATS!  Isn't that the point of celebrating a royal affair?????  Anyway... here are all the hats!  Amberie, Colleen, Ella (still wearing her dance stuff from her make-up session earlier that day), and me!

The crew and the food!  Yum!  Sam on the far left, the back of Jody, Braeden, Josh, Leslie, and Lexi!

Orange-blueberry scones!  They are the texture of muffins... an English pastry.

Nann bread on the left.  It's really good and Indian in origin.  (Because the English spent so much time in India and brought home the taste with them.)

And I made and brought the cucumber sandwiches!  A royal hit!  They were yummy and very easy to make in not a lot of time!

The wedding is BACKGROUND compared to the food right now!  Chris and Jody with Lexi and Braeden

Aunty Jody modeling my hat for a picture!

Ella wearing her hat OVER Lexi's!  Silly!  And she's wrapped in a towel before we left because it got chilly and she wouldn't wear anything but her dance tutu!

Now you can really see both hats!

Me and my BIG hat!!
Just a bit of info on the ugly hat for the ugly Princess Beatrice:  it sold for $131,000!!!  However... at least the money goes to charities for children, but SERIOUSLY!!  Lexi was SOOO right when she made the comment, "She needs to be BE-HATTED!!!!"  Sam and others were saying that she should be beheaded for showing up in such garb!  Pretty good on the pun for Lexi!!  ;o)

About Me

Crazy, stay-at-home mother of three; Alexa, Braeden, and Ella, and wife of Damian! We love life, although sometimes it's just hard to make it through one simple day. We all love each other... more than we can usually show or tell, and we love our friends and family very much! We LOVE the beach, having company, eating out (a rare treat now with three kids 8 and under), swimming, and playing outside!
