Metal Mouth

Damian has a new weight loss plan!  Haha!  Just kidding.  It wasn't planned this way, but it looks like for the next 6 weeks he won't be able to close his jaw all the way.  Looks like a semi-liquid diet coming his way.  Boo for him!
He got braces {again} this morning.  The last time he had braces... oh, so long ago... the orthodontist didn't take into account his wisdom teeth.  They came in and completely messed everything up, and even though he had them pulled... it was too late, and they've just gotten a little worse over time, so... since we have a few connections with the military dentist in our ward, he was able to get braces on... for free because of our insurance!  Yay!  {About the "free" part!}  He'll be wearing them for about a year.  It makes me feel like I'm kissing a teenager!  ;o)  But he also did a series of home whitening stuff, and his teeth are whiter than they've been for a long time.  They look so nice... well... under all the metal!
The reason he can't close his jaw is because after they got the braces on they realized that if they didn't put some blocks in at the back of his jaw his top teeth in the front would knock off the brackets on the bottom teeth.  So sad for him, but he really wanted them, and is willing to live with it.  What we won't do for beauty, huh?  ;o)

See the two blue things attached to his back molars?  Those are the "blocks" that don't allow his jaw to close.

He will NOT let me get a good picture of his whole face.  He's so much worse than my kids, even!

As good as it's gonna get... and so true to personality.

Awesome! Jordan will be joining Damian and the metal mouth club. It is also his 2nd time around and all because they didn't pull his wisdom teeth. Lame. Why does Damian have to have the molar blocks? What does that help with?

About Me

Crazy, stay-at-home mother of three; Alexa, Braeden, and Ella, and wife of Damian! We love life, although sometimes it's just hard to make it through one simple day. We all love each other... more than we can usually show or tell, and we love our friends and family very much! We LOVE the beach, having company, eating out (a rare treat now with three kids 8 and under), swimming, and playing outside!
