Thanks to Our Heroes!!

This post represents Thursday, 10 November 2011. The kids had the 11th off!!
It was a sea of red, white, and blue at school this day, and despite the super crappy way it started out, it turned out to be awesome.  I so cried when they sang the military "Thank You" song!  So sweet.  They sang several other songs, too, and it just warms my heart to know that my kids are being raised as patriots!!
Alvin and Kim, my two close neighbors who are active duty service members!  Kim had just gotten home and didn't even HAVE a uniform to wear that day!  Still in transit!  Theresa and Jonna... ??  I don't know what they are talking about , but looks interesting!  :o)
Yay!  Lexi got to hold her class's flag!!  so cute!
Their principal personally shaking the hands of all the veterans in attendance there that day and thanking them for their sacrifices.
I couldn't resist this.  From young to old and everywhere in between.  Veterans were well represented that day.  On the far right is Alvin!  And the older gentleman is one of Braeden's friend's grandfather.
Braeden's class!  They are waiting to hear the names for Husky Hero that day... and guess who got it!!!??!!  {For which the reason I was there...}
Look at all the girls around him!  Haha!  I think they are more excited to hear his name than he is!!!  It makes me laugh... they all just love him.  SCARY!!

Good job, Braeden!  You are indeed a Husky Hero!
And despite your actions and attitude earlier that morning that made you LATE for school, you really are such a good, sweet boy!  Love you lots!
Mrs. D'Andrea presenting him with his official award!
Award, prize, and EXTRA HOMEWORK!!  Haha!  He got to do a giant poster all about HIM to share with his class the next week!  They spend a week doing fun stuff to congratulate their latest Husky Hero!
Patriotic as it gets, right!??  Especially the galoshes!!  Ella is always my best reminder that we are GIVEN free agency by our Heavenly Father for a REASON!
As close as it gets around here for the Times Square Look-a-Like... haha!  Theresa is so funny!  She hates this, but Alvin loves it, and as a result it appears that he is attacking her!  Thanks for your service... Alvin, Kim, Damian, and 3 others just on our STREET!!!

Where was Damian in his uniform? And where are Ella's ladybug rain boots? I am truly proud to be an American!

Damian was at work... where else!?? And this was before Ella's birthday, so she didn't have the ladybug galoshes yet! :) (Though they would have matched a little better, at least!!)

About Me

Crazy, stay-at-home mother of three; Alexa, Braeden, and Ella, and wife of Damian! We love life, although sometimes it's just hard to make it through one simple day. We all love each other... more than we can usually show or tell, and we love our friends and family very much! We LOVE the beach, having company, eating out (a rare treat now with three kids 8 and under), swimming, and playing outside!
