Uncle Nick came to Cali for his spring break, and the only pix we took were with HIS camera at the beach when we went. I don't know what happened! Usually I'm better at pulling out the camera... and taking it with us!
He got to go racing go-karts with Damian, then we went to the beach, and he played a lot with the kids... and even watched a lot of Disney movies! Fun stuff!
And "Nerick" comes from Ella. She started to get confused a few times with him and Eric... so she covered all the bases and called him Nerick! She did pretty good, though, and only slipped up a few times. I just thought it was funny!
In the beginning... Ella was happy!
But the happy was quickly wearing off. She had been talking and begging to go to the beach for several months... literally... but when she got there, she was tired (because she would NOT take a nap on the way there... she was too excited!) and started to get her grumpy beach self that we knew last year back!
See what I mean? She really doesn't like the waves. Not that they're anything, but they were very cold... and Ella does NOT like cold ocean water.
The traditional sand hole, and wall building.
Damian, Braeden and Lexi... working hard... or hardly working??
Obviously they were working pretty hard! See the wall? And they even had a couple of little girls come and join them. Damian was commenting on just how much they talk. He said it was worse than all 3 of ours put together. Now that's BAAADDDDD!
Hmmm... I'm not sure what is happening here.
Nice smile, Damian. I can see that he's soooo excited to be there. (But he did get in the water to catch a few waves on the boogie board, so I'm not sure why he looks so grumpy... maybe he's related to Ella! :) Ha!)
Boogie on in!
Lexi and Nick riding the "wave" in!
He must have been going a little fast... there's a wake behind him!

And this is how Ella ended it. She got totally splashed by a cold wave, and DING... her timer went off! She just wanted to leave! We did, however, stick around and play a while longer... at least until Damian got body slammed under a wave and hurt his neck. THEN we left!
And don't say "poor Ella". Poor Ella, my EYE!

Ok, you guys need to get stationed in Florida on the gulf side... the water is deliciously warm... we wouldn't go in your water to dive in the middle of the summer without wet suits... here - the water can be in the 80's... sounds horrible, but really after you adjust - it's great!!
my goal is to stay in southern california. i have a heated pool, and we'll just go visit the other places.
