Husky Hero and Birthday Celebration!

Friday Jan. 7th turned out to be a great day for the Huskies in our family!  (Despite the fact that I had a flat tire on the van that morning, drove on the rim, etc.  which became the first day of MANY in our adventure to get a new tire, that turned into 4 plus a whole new suspension, PLUS a leak repair, PLUS....  :'o(  I guess "adventure" isn't the right word, but I'm trying to be nice.  It needed to be done.  But when it rains... ___________________ !  Everyone seems to know!)
As it turned out, Braeden got to be the Star of the Week in his class, and have his class birthday celebration that day AND Lexi was chosen as Husky Hero (finally) by her teacher!  Yay!  A day of pure joy!
Below you see her (and everyone else grades 1-5) sitting out at Friday Flag Salute where they do lots of announcements, awards, etc.  She didn't have ANY idea that it was happening, though she had been anxious for her turn for months!

Make sure when you watch the above video that you notice early on when she DISCOVERS her Daddy filming her and REALIZES what it means!!  So cute!
Even as excited as she was, she's still shy and nervous to go up in front of everyone!

And her teacher, Mrs. R. got to give her a sticker, and her teacher from last year, Mrs. G., gave her the pencil!!  So happy to see her with 2 of her 3 teachers!  (Mrs. S. was busy entertaining Braeden in Kindergarten!  The K's don't go to Friday Flag unless there is an extra special assembly going on.)

Mrs. R. and Mrs. G. are both so nice!  :o)

Lexi has a hard time expressing her excitement!  Sigh!

... And so does Damian!  Doesn't he just look thrilled??  ;o)

I don't have that problem!  I was so happy for Lexi!  And happy that Damian could come to my rescue that morning... and happy that he could come to Friday Flag, and just ... HAPPY!

There it is!  She's letting out that she TOTALLY saw us before her name was called!  (I might just say that it did take a little scurrying to get everyone there on time after the van fiasco!)

AND... her class was presented with one of the Husky banners for being exceptional in the eyes of the principal that week!  Hooray!!  An exciting day for us!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Towards the end of the Kindergarten day I went back to bring the treats for Braeden's class!  He really wanted to bring Otter-Pops!  Yes... it was already COLD, but he would NOT be talked out of it!  He also brought them a little vile of bubbles to take home!  Fun stuff!

He is CRAZY!  They get to sit in the special chair and tell about themselves... and he was so OVER excited about the otter-pops, the birthday song, EVERYTHING... can you tell???  ;o)  He cracks me up!

He chose one of his BFF's, Carter, to help him arrange the words for the SILLY bday song!  (These two can get pretty wild, but they are really good at school!)

:o)  This picture just makes me smile!  (o:

Nice job, boys!!  (You try and sing it like this!  Totally fun... especially if you're 6!)

See??  Totally LOVED it!  He thinks he's so funny!

And he's REALLY good at being a GOOD friend to everyone.  He chooses not just his BFF's, but really does try to include lots of people.  He chose Isabella to help him make the song "RIGHT"!

And then he went back to BFF's and chose Ethan to help with the last little thing!  Totally cute!  Totally wild!  Mrs. S. is my hero!

Congratulations, Lexi!  You totally deserved Husky Hero LONG ago, but you were so great to be patient and wait while others who "needed" it more got a turn before you.
AND...
Happy Birthday, Braeden!!  You are such a great student!  You, also, deserved a day to celebrate you!

Every blog update makes me SOOOO excited to finally see you guys again in May!

About Me

Crazy, stay-at-home mother of three; Alexa, Braeden, and Ella, and wife of Damian! We love life, although sometimes it's just hard to make it through one simple day. We all love each other... more than we can usually show or tell, and we love our friends and family very much! We LOVE the beach, having company, eating out (a rare treat now with three kids 8 and under), swimming, and playing outside!
